Abbey Road lokasi wajib bagi penggemar Beatles - Abbey Road location a must for Beatles fans

Ruas jalan Abbey Road yang terletak di kawasan Westminster merupakan salah satu tujuan utama wisatawan yang berkunjung ke London.
Jalan ini populer ke seluruh dunia setelah The Beatles menjadikannya judul album ke-11 mereka yang dirilis pada 1969.
Sampul depan album menggambarkan empat personil grup legendaris ini, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr dan George Harisson menyeberangi Abbey Road.
Lebih dari 40 tahun kemudian, Abbey Road masih menjadi magnet bagi para pencinta The Beatles.
Wisatawan lokal dan manca negara mengunjungi jalan ini hanya untuk berfoto.

Mereka tidak segan menghentikan arus lalu lintas, karena Abbey Road terletak di pertigaan jalan yang sibuk, hanya untuk menyeberangi jalan dan berpose meniru sampul album The Beatles.
Seorang turis dari Chicago, AS, Tom Goddard yang ditemui BBC Indonesia di lokasi mengatakan ia dan teman-temannya adalah penggemar The Beatles.
"John Lennon adalah seorang jenius. Ia merevolusi musik, ia seperti dewa buat saya," kata Tom yang berprofesi sebagai aranser musik.
Sedangkan Rachel Iwasaki seorang warga negara Kanada yang menikah dengan pria Jepang mengatakan ia memiliki kenangan manis dengan salah satu lagu The Beatles.
"Mendiang suami saya melamar saya dengan lagu 'Something' 23 tahun yang lalu. Saya tahu lagu itu direkam di Abbey Road dan saya bahagia bisa datang ke sini,'" kata Jane.

'Album terbaik di dunia'

Untuk mencapai Abbey Road, wisatawan bisa naik kereta bawah tanah dan turun di Stasiun Saint John's Wood dan berjalan kaki melalui ruas jalan Grove End sebelum mencapai persimpangan antara Garden Road dan Abbey Road.
Tidak ada papan pengumuman atau rambu petunjuk yang secara khusus mengarah ke Abbey Road. Satu-satunya pertanda didapat dari sebuah warung kopi di depan stasiun yang juga menjual pernak pernik resmi The Beatles seperti gelas, kaos, CD dan aneka poster seperti magnet kulkas.

Majalah musik Rolling Stones menyebut album Abbey Road sebagai "salah satu album terbaik di dunia."
Hampir seluruh lagu dalam album tersebut menjadi hits klasik, seperti 'Come Together,' 'Oh Darling,' dan 'Here Comes The Sun.'

Penggarapan album ini dilakukan di Abbey Road Studio, salah satu studio rekaman tertua di dunia. Selain The Beatles, grup Pink Floyd juga pernah membuat album mereka di studio berusia 80 tahun ini.
Tembok di halaman studio penuh dengan coretan tangan para turis selama bertahun-tahun dan umumnya berisi kekaguman dan cinta mereka untuk The Beatles.

Road that Abbey Road is located in Westminster is one of the main goals of tourists visiting London.
The road is popular all over the world after The Beatles made it the title of their eleventh album, released in 1969.
Front cover of the album describes the four personnel of this legendary group, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and George Harisson crossing Abbey Road.
More than 40 years later, Abbey Road is still a magnet for lovers of the Beatles.
Local and foreign tourists visit this way just to take pictures.
They do not hesitate to stop the flow of traffic, because Abbey Road is located on a busy road junction, just to cross the street and pose mimics the album cover of The Beatles.
A tourist from Chicago, USA, Tom Goddard BBC Indonesia encountered at the site said he and his friends are fans of The Beatles.
"John Lennon was a genius. He revolutionized the music, he is like god to me," says Tom who is a music aranser.
While Rachel Iwasaki a Canadian citizen who married a Japanese man said he had fond memories with one of the songs of The Beatles.
"I applied my late husband with the song 'Something' 23 years ago. I knew the song was recorded at Abbey Road and I am happy to come here, '" said Jane.

'Best Album in the world'

To reach the Abbey Road, tourists can ride the subway and get off at Saint John's Wood Station and walk through the Grove End road before reaching the junction between Garden Road and Abbey Road.
There was no bulletin board or sign the instructions that specifically leads to Abbey Road. The only sign that obtained from a coffee shop in front of the station which also sells knickknacks official The Beatles such as cups, T-shirts, CDs and various posters such as refrigerator magnets.
Rolling Stones music magazine called the album Abbey Road as "one of the best albums in the world."
Almost all the songs in the album is a classic hits, like 'Come Together,' 'Oh Darling,' and 'Here Comes The Sun.'
Cultivation of the album was done at Abbey Road Studio, one of the world's oldest recording studio. Besides The Beatles, Pink Floyd group had also made their album in the studio this year aged 80.
Wall in the courtyard filled with graffiti studio hands of tourists over the years and generally contain their admiration and love for the Beatles.
