The Beatles’ ‘Love Me Do’ commemorative 7-inch vinyl single released 22nd October

Fifty years ago, a little-known group from Liverpool rolled out a debut single which would quickly set the wheels in motion for the most popular and best-selling music group in history.

The Beatles’ first Parlophone single, 'Love Me Do,' was released on 5th October, 1962 as a 7-inch vinyl single with 'P.S. I Love You' on its flipside. To celebrate this important British music milestone, Apple Corps Ltd. and EMI are pleased to announce the 22nd October release of a limited edition replica of the single with its original Parlophone sleeve art. The commemorative single’s audio was sourced from the 2009 mono remaster to ensure the highest quality listening experience.

Both sides of the 'Love Me Do' single are original compositions, a remarkable statement of intent from a group making their first steps in the music business. Within a week, the single had entered the UK chart at 49 and would climb to 17, spending 18 weeks on the chart.

'Love Me Do'
launched the journey that would lead The Beatles to achieve unparalleled worldwide success and acclaim that continues to this day.
