The Beatles Vs. The Beach Boys – Ultimate Classic Rock Hall of Fame Round One

The opening battle of the inaugural Ultimate Classic Rock Hall of Fame election revisits one of the most famous creative competitions in rock history: The Beatles vs. the Beach Boys. Each month, your votes will determine which of eight legendary artists or bands is immortalized forever for their contributions to classic rock history.
Very few groups can match up to the impact the Beach Boys had on the course of popular music. They evolved in a very short time from one of the finest surfer rock singles acts to the creators of some of the most groundbreakingly produced and arranged albums ever recorded.
Of course, the Beatles take a back seat to nobody when it comes to shaping the direction and style of music, and in fact, of all of popular culture. The scope of their influence can’t be accurately measured because it’s still expanding and revealing in itself in new ways each and every day.
So who moves on? As shocking as it sounds, one of these two legendary bands won’t make it past the opening round of this month’s Hall of Fame election. Who gets the nod on is entirely your call. You can vote once a day from now until 11:59 PM ET on Sunday, March 17. The first entrant into the Ultimate Classic Rock Hall of Fame will be revealed on April 1, 2013. You can read the official Hall of Fame rules right here. May your conscience be your guide!
