Yoko Ono and Sean Lennon’s Fracking Protest Video

Mother and Son appear in the video, as well as artists Liv Tyler, Susan Sarandon and Maggie Gyllenhaal.

Yoko Ono and her son Sean Lennon have launched a protest video against a natural gas extraction method known as fracking. It is believed that the technique used to extract gas substances is not safe due to radon exposure, and that it may contaminate water supplies.
The song, “Don’t Frack My Mother,” is an initiative as part of the Artists Against Fracking campaign, which intends to convince New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo not to use the fracking method of energy production.

The song first appeared on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" in July 2011, with Ono and Lennon announcing a campaign that now counts Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro, Lady Gaga, and Paul McCartney among its supporters.
Cuomo should announce his decision regarding the use of fracking in the next few months, when the Health Department finishes a report on the impact of the method. Research published earlier this week states that 43 percent of New Yorkers are against the use of the technique.
