The Quarrymen, the band from which the Beatles evolved, have released a new mix of their song, "No. 6," from their forthcoming "Grey Album."

The song, recorded in Berlin, features the Quarrymen playing, singing and talking. As a special addition, it also includes May Pang whispering "Number 6." Pang was, of course, featured on his song, "No. 9 Dream." Lennon also wrote "Surprise, Surprise" about her.
"Which question should never be answered?" says Rod Davis as the track opens. "Number 6," May Pang answers.
The song will be first played on the air at by Cha-chi Loprete at 8 a.m. Eastern time Sunday on his "Breakfast With the Beatles" show on WZLX in Boston.
The Quarrymen be in Berlin for a special tribute to the 50th anniversary of the Star Club. The club opened on April 13, 1962. Ringo Starr paid a visit to the club last year.
Also scheduled to perform at the anniversary show are the Pete Best Band, Mike Pender's Searchers, Jimmy & the Rackets, Lee Curtis, the Undertakers, the Mojos and a Star Club All-Star Band to include Bobby Thompson, Joe Fagen, Jackie Lomax and Brian Griffiths.
The Quarrymen, originally a group of British teens who played both skiffle and rock n' roll, had John Lennon, Paul McCartney and George Harrison among its members. The group, with Lennon, McCartney and Harrison, made its first recording, "That'll Be the Day"/"In Spite of All the Danger," in 1958. The group today includes Rod Davis, Colin Hanton, John Duff Lowe and Len Garry.
The mp3 file can be purchased from Amazon.com, Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.de (Germany), Amazon.jp (Japan) and iTunes.
