Penny Lane Gallery to exhibit iconic Beatles photographs by Bill Zygmant

Legendary Beatles and John Lennon photographs taken by Bill Zygmant will be included in a new exhibit at Penny Lane Gallery beginning this Friday, August 17, 2012, extending through mid October. Mr. Zygmant took the first pictures of John Lennon and Yoko Ono months before the official announcement of their relationship.
Christine Colvin of Penny Lane Gallery told us that besides the very special photos of Lennon and Yoko, “There will be images of the other Beatles as well as musicians such as Jimi Hendrix and the Bee Gees, plus a few fun images from 1960s London. There is also the Apple store when it was painted with a psychedelic mural, and John Lennon's Rolls Royce too. She added that Bill will appear at the gallery during the private preview: “Bill will be at the gallery for the preview on Thursday, 16th August between 6pm-8.30pm. We have invited guests to the private view but we would also welcome fans too if they would like to meet Bill. All his prints will be for sale and he'll also be signing an exclusive limited edition poster/print that's been release especially for the exhibition."
Bill will also appear in Liverpool at the end of August: “Bill will be back in Liverpool on Sunday 26th August appearing in conjunction with Penny Lane Gallery at the Beatle Convention in the Adelphi Hotel, Liverpool. The convention is part of the annual Mathew Street Festival. Bill will also be signing the prints there for the day.”
His photographs have appeared in the Musical Express, Billboard, Picture Post as well as national newspapers and magazines.
The Zygmant Suite at The Hard Days Night Hotel in Liverpool was named in recognition of his iconic Beatle images. As such, the walls of the suite include this collection including the Apple Boutique and John Lennon’s psychedelic Rolls Royce.
One of Bill's images of John was projected onto some of the city's historic waterfront buildings during Lennon's 70th birthday celebrations in Liverpool. (See slideshow)
Limited editions of his photos are available for purchase at his site beginning at £250.
This exhibition runs from Friday 17th August – Sunday 14th October 2012.
