New Beatles Vinyl Box Set Due Out November 13 — Or Is It?

 

 

MusicDirect.com has reported that all 12 of The Beatles studio albums are included in a new 16-LP vinyl box set available on November 13. Or will it?

The posting on MusicDirect was missing from the website by Wednesday afternoon, replaced with a message reading that the product “may have been discontinued or no longer available for purchase online.”
So, was the initial posting accurate? Did MusicDirect jump the gun? That remains to be seen. However, according to the initial posting, The Beatles Stereo Albums 16LP Limited Edition Box Set also includes Magical Mystery Tour and the Past Masters releases, in addition to the standard Beatles catalog. The remastering process by Abbey Road Studios reportedly took four years to insure the highest fidelity possible.
Each album features original vinyl artwork, original track listings, booklets containing original and newly added liner notes, recording notes, and rare photos. Total cost of the vinyl box set? $399.99
The remastered Beatles collection, of course, was previously released on CD in 2009.
