Ringo Starr issued a statement on his personal Facebook page and his official website on Wednesday saying he would not cooperate with a planned biography being written about him by a New York Post writer.
“There is an unauthorized biography being written by Michael Starr and I want my friends & fans to know it has nothing to do with me. I'm not participating with it at all. Peace & Love, Ringo,” the statement by the former Beatle read.
Michael Starr has been covering television for the Post since 1995, according to the paper's website. He is the author, as Michael Seth Starr, of previously published celebrity biographies on Peter Sellers, Art Carney, Joey Bishop, Bobby Darin, Raymond Burr and Redd Foxx.
According to the author, the book was planned to be published in 2015 by Backbeat Books and would cover the entire scope of Starr's life.
