Museum acquires holy grail Beatles 8 Track for nearly $1,000

The Eight Track Museum of Dallas, TX has acquired one of the world's most rare 8 tracks, The Beatles 20 Greatest Hits from 1982. The tape was won by the Museum on eBay from noted Beatles expert Perry Cox. The winning bid was $898.00, making it one of the highest recorded sales of an 8 track tape.
The Beatles hits title is considered in the top 3 of the world's rarest 8 tracks. Shortly before its release in 1982, it was decided at the last minute that the tape would not be released and all copies were ordered destroyed. The Museum has one other copy of the title, an open copy purchased in 2010.

"To have both an open and a sealed copy of this particualr 8 track is pretty amazing," says Bucks Burnett, the Museum's founder. "Only a handful of copies, around 10, are believed to exist, and now we have 2 of them. I think an 8 track selling for nearly a thousand dollars indicates some kind of possible economic recovery might be happening."

The Eight Track Museum is located at 2630 E. Commerce St. in Dallas, Texas. It is available for viewing to the public by appointment. For more info contact Bucks Burnett at bucks1414@mac.com.
