Ringo Starr to Take All Starr Band Down Under and to Japan Next Year

After touring across North America with the latest edition of his All Starr Band this summer, Ringo Starr will bring the same lineup of musicians overseas next year for a series of shows in Japan, New Zealand and Australia. So far, six concerts have been confirmed, mapped out from a February 7 performance in Christchurch, New Zealand, through a March 1 stop in Osaka, Japan. While no Australia dates have been announced yet, a series of shows in the country are slated to be revealed on October 26.
The current incarnation of the famed Beatles drummer’s All Starr Band includes Todd Rundgren, ex-Santana/Journey singer/keyboardist Gregg Rolie, Toto guitarist Steve Lukather and Mr. Mister‘s Richard Page. Among the tunes fans can expect to hear are solo Starr hits like “It Don’t Come Easy” and “Photograph” and Beatles classics such as “Little Help from My Friends” and “Yellow Submarine,” as well renditions of Rundgren’s “Hello It’s Me,” Santana’s “Black Magic Woman” and Toto’s “Rosanna.”
“The tour this summer was just GREAT — I love playing with this band and I can’t wait to get back out and play with them again,” says Ringo in a statement. “I am looking forward to revisiting Japan with the All Starrs and of course New Zealand and Australia. Peace & Love!”
