McCartney, who is now 70, is rocking just as hard as ever. He’s a former member of one of the world’s foremost rock quartets, The Beatles, and his solo career is almost as big.
After the Beatles broke up in 1970, Sir Paul formed his own band called Wings. ‘Rockshow’ was shot in 1976 when he and the band went on an epic world tour, the largest ever by the band.
The May 16 premiere in London recalled Paul’s early years with The Beatles. The band was the first to create true rock hysteria. The singer and his new wife, Nancy, required a security detail to get through the throngs of fans.
An edited version of the rockumentary, shot at Seattle’s Kingdom, was released in 1980, but it has been re-edited to include the complete concert. It’s also been restored and remastered from the original 35mm film version. The film is available on Blu-Ray and DVD.
It not only includes all of Wings’ classic songs, but also some Beatles songs and Paul singing solo. The Wings Over America Deluxe Edition Box Set includes two CDs and a bunch of other special features.
