The Beatles’ ‘Red’ & ‘Blue’ Albums (1973)

 

YouTube has a great deal of crowdsourced riches hidden in its innumerable coffers and from time to time we find something we want to spend all day with. Today, it’s The Beatles‘ career-spanning compilations, the Red and Blue albums – officially known as 1962-1966 and 1967-1970, respectively.
The compilations were released together in 1973 — almost exactly three years after The Beatles disbanded — to great commercial success, but like all original recordings by The Beatles, they are unfortunately not available on streaming services like Spotify or Rdio. Many thanks to an intrepid YouTuber for allowing us to skim through pop music’s greatest discography.
