Fans can come together at traveling Beatles exhibit

All together now, Minnesotans will be able to Meet the Beatles in a traveling exhibit that marks the 50th anniversary of the band’s arrival in the U.S.
The Associated Press reports the Grammy Museum’s show “Ladies and Gentlemen … The Beatles!” will stop at the Mall of America later this year. The show represents a sort of long and winding road back to Bloomington; the mall is located on the site of the old Metropolitan Stadium where the Beatles made their first and only appearance in Minnesota in 1965.
On February 7, 1964, the band arrived in America, performing on The Ed Sullivan Show and then touring the country. The exhibit focuses on the frenzy of their rock n roll music in their journey across America, from the Fab Four’s press conference at John F. Kennedy Airport in New York in 1964 to their 1966 concert at Candlestick Park in San Francisco. The exhibit tells the story with more than 400 original artifacts, film and video interviews, photographs and interactive experiences.
Visitors can travel across the universe to see the 13-week exhibit, which is scheduled to open on June 5 at the Midwest Music Museum on the top floor of the mall and will run through the end on Sept. 7. Advance tickets for day trippers who want to get back to the music of yesterday are available online. An advance ticket to ride is selling for between $5 and $7. It will be open seven, not eight, days a week.
The Beatles exhibition debuted at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center on February 6. Time magazine gave a shout to the opening and said the exhibit  was something special. The article called the show a “treasure trove” for fans and noting that it includes instruments and iconic pieces of clothing. “The jacket McCartney wore at the band’s legendary 1965 concert at Shea Stadium; Starr’s black jacket, as featured on the famous Abbey Road album cover; and John Lennon’s glasses from 1967.”
Earlier this month, The 400 Bar, a longtime music venue on the West Bank in Minneapolis, announced that it would open a new version of the landmark space at the Mall of America. It will feature a bar, restaurant, pub, performance venue, and music museum.
(Did you find the 13 Beatles song titles in this story? Come Together, All Together Now, The Long and Winding Road, Rock N Roll Music, Across the Universe, The End, Day Tripper, Get Back, Yesterday, Ticket to Ride, Eight Days a Week, Shout, Something)
