Auction for ticket from the last Beatles' show

A Beatles concert ticket from the last ever show at the Cavern Club is being touted at auction for £6,000.

Fab Four fan Steve Bailey is owner of The Beatles Shop on Mathew Street, a popular haunt for the band and other "Merseybeat" groups.

He unveiled the ticket of their final performance dated 3rd August 1963 at the shop full to the rafters of Beatles memorabilia.

The four Liverpool lads who became the biggest pop group in history played at the club 292 times in front of screaming fans.

That sound would follow John, Paul, George and Ringo all over the world as their popularity grew and they became millionaires.

But for their last gig at the Cavern they were paid just £300.

The ticket is to be sold at auction at the Paul McCartney Auditorium at the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts (LIPA) during The Beatles Convention on 25th August.
